The ACH130 Aston Martin Edition is the first helicopter model resulting from the recently announced collaboration between Aston Martin Lagonda and Airbus Corporate Helicopters. The companies have revealed it today in Courchevel, in the French Alps, and have announced there will be four exclusive Aston Martin signature designs available.
This special edition of the ACH130 helicopter results from a closely work of both companies’ designers for more than a year to combine ACH’s values of excellence, quality and service with Aston Martin’s commitment to beauty craftsmanship and the automotive art.
Their purpose is to bring helicopters’ a new level of aesthetics and rigorous attention to detail, which will delight the helicopter owners and pilots who appreciate the pleasure of a luxury high performance custom made. Summarizing, they pretend to create a helicopter in complete harmony with the interior of the Aston Martin sports cars.
The ACH130 Aston Martin Edition will be available upon request with a range of four interior and exterior designs and deliveries will be made from the first quarter of 2020. The first model, inspired by the Stirling Green and already flying with the first aircraft, features a gradient paint that fades to the Jet Black at the bottom of the helicopter and to the Skyfall Silver around the shell. Other designs are available with other exclusive Aston Martin paintings, including colors such as Xenon Gray, Arizona or Ultramarine Black.
Inside, the helicopters are embellished with the distinctive elements of Aston Martin, starting with the iconic wings. The cabin offers a higher level of comfort and is covered in black suede and offers a leather palette of choice.
Each of these special edition helicopters will have a plaque included in the control panel that will show the logos of this association, the edition number and the name of the owner in case you want to include it.
The Vice President and Creative Director of Aston Martin, Marek Reichman, said: “In recent years we have learned how to apply our car design principles to other design areas such as architecture, motorcycles and now, the helicopters. This first application of our design practices to a helicopter posed a series of challenges. However, we enjoyed very much surpassing them. Aesthetics is of vital importance to Aston Martin and our customers, and we believe that the ACH 130 Aston Martin Edition is an intrinsically beautiful machine. It provided a wonderful canvas for our team to work on”.
Frédéric Lemos, Director of Airbus Corporate Helicopters, also commented that the ACH130 Aston Martin Edition is intended to “those owners who are pleased to personally pilot their aircraft, in the same way, Aston Martin cars are for drivers who enjoy driving”.
