We have seen it in many science fiction and futuristic movies, but it’s at last reallity; the first flying car of the world already exists. It is called PAL-V Pioneer and it is a new prototype of the Dutch company PAL-V International.
The car, that was presented at the Miami Art Week 2019, will be at the market on a limited edition, only 90 vehicles worldwide. As the CEO of PAL-V International, Robert Dingemanse, said: “The Pioneer version of the Pal-V is intended for the 90 buyers who want to make history with us”.
The PAL-V Pioneer is basically a hybrid between a car and a helicopter. It is equipped with two retractable propellers and rear wings that makes it capable of flying at an altitude of up to 3,500 meters. Even though its small size it can carry up to two passengers and 20 kilograms of cargo.
The best part, this small three-wheeled vehicle converts from car to gyrocopter in just 10 minutes and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than nine seconds. Also, it can reach maximum speeds of 180 km / h in the air and 160 km / h on land.
According to the company’s website, the PAL-V has a four-cylinder engine, uses gasoline and it is manufactured with carbon fiber, titanium and aluminum, what makes it lighter than a traditional car.
The first units are expected to reach their owners in 2021, lucky ones at the forefront of mobility. After the sold of the 90 Pioneer, the company expects to begin delivery the PAL-V Liberty Sports models and starts a worldwide revolution.
